Biography

Teresa di Miceli, daughter of Giovanni di Miceli and Bernarda Castelli, marries Ciro Ficarrotta, son of Francesco Paolo Ficarrotta and Francesca Panzarella, on 25 September 1864.[1]

Ciro and Teresa have at least three children: two sons named Francesco Paolo (1869 and 1871), and Giovanni (1874).

The first son named Francesco Paolo, after Ciro's father, is born and baptized on 25 September 1869.[2] He is presumed to have died before the second son of the same name is born.

The second son named Francesco Paolo is born 29 June 1871 and baptized the next day. His godmother is Rosa Pecorino, who is unmarried.[3]

Giovanni is born 27 May 1874 in Corleone and baptized the next day. His godparents are Saverio Gagliardo and Emmanuela Ficarrotta, a married couple.[4] He is named after his maternal grandfather.

On 15 September 1892, Francesco Paolo, age 21 (b. 1871), contadino, son of the late Ciro Ficarrotta and the living Teresa di Miceli; and Maria Carmela Patti, age 31 (b. 1861), contadina, announce their intention to wed.[5] They marry in the Church in Corleone on 9 October.[6]

Giovanni marries Antonina Cutrera on 13 November 1898 in Corleone.[7]

The brothers emigrate together to Louisiana, in the United States, in 1902.
